Ben from Curatio will be starting Universal Healing Tao classes at the Yoga Tree in Hiroo from July 1st.
These classes will be an introduction to the Universal Healing Tao system with a focus on Tao Yin Yoga.
Basic Universal Healing Tao practice incorporates the Inner Smile meditation, Healing Sounds, Microcosmic Orbit meditation, Chiqong movement and breathing, Iron Shirt Chiqong, Tao Yin Yoga and Tai Chi Chiqong.
This series of lessons will provide an overview of the Universal Healing Tao system including useful practices that students can implement into their daily regime for the purpose of enhancing chi (energy), developing awareness and control of the emotions, and bringing the body, mind and spirit into alignment and unity.
Each week we will focus on a few aspects of the system and exercises associated with each aspect. There will be some theoretical explanations of the system as well lots of physical practice.
The lessons will run for 90 minutes from 12:00-1:30pm.
The initial 60 minutes of the classes will involve a Chiqong warm-up sequence of movement and breathing exercises to activate chi circulation in the body. We will then focus on some tendon strengthening exercises and organ detoxification.
We will also work on basic Iron Shirt Chiqong postures to help develop grounding and bring a deeper awareness to the Tantien. These postures will also greatly help to develop inner core strength.
In the final 30 minutes we will focus more on meditation which will include a mixture of the Inner Smile meditation and the Healing Sounds for the organs. The Inner Smile brings awareness to each organ in the body, their associated emotions and helps to heal and balance the organs on both a physical and emotional level. The healing sounds further develop this awareness, and greater balance and heal the organs.
Finally we will practice some Tao Yin Yoga poses to help open up the lumbar and sacrum region to allow chi to flow more easily throughout the body.
I will be posting more detailed explanations of the Universal Healing Tao system over coming weeks so please stay tuned.
If you have any questions about the classes please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at the Yoga Tree each Thursday from July 1st.
